Franchise Business Review honors brands with highest levels of franchisee satisfaction
Franchise Business Review has named DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen one of the best franchises in the United States for franchisee satisfaction.
The market research firm analyzed survey results from 28,000 franchisees to put together its list of top opportunities. Each franchisee was asked to rate his or her company using 33 benchmark questions including areas such as financial opportunity, training and support, leadership, operations and product development, the honesty and integrity of the franchisor, general satisfaction, and the quality of the franchisee community. Franchisees were also asked about their market area, demographics, business lifestyle, and the overall enjoyment of running their franchise.
“Everyone who starts a business and joins a franchise makes the decision because they want to create a better life for themselves and their families — whether that means more money, more time, more job satisfaction, or all three,” says DreamMaker President Doug Dwyer. “As a franchisor, I’m passionate, and my entire support team is passionate, about helping franchisees achieve their goals. I couldn’t be prouder to receive this kind of recognition.”
Franchisees need at least $50,000 to start a DreamMaker franchise, and total startup costs range from $94,895 to $257,745.
DreamMaker remodeling franchise owners have seen their average revenue grow 60%, with average sales rising from nearly $500,000 in 2011 to nearly $800,000 in 2014, according to Financial Disclosure Documents released in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. The disclosure document covering 2015 performance will be released this spring.
But rising revenues aren’t the only reason franchisees are happy. They enjoy being part of a brand that believes in servant leadership, integrity, learning, cooperation, and having fun. DreamMaker’s leadership team begins every meeting by reading the company’s Code of Values and sharing stories that relate to those values. Franchisees do the same with their teams. The practice has helped foster a deep sense of teamwork and responsibility throughout the organization.
Patty Gray, who owns DreamMaker of Bakersfield, California, renewed her franchise agreement in 2015. At the 2015 DreamMaker Reunion (the franchisees are so close-knit that “convention” seems far too formal a word), she said, “renewing the contract was a no-brainer. I am so grateful for the people, and for where we are in our life. It is an amazing place, and we would not be where we are if we hadn’t made the commitment to join DreamMaker 12 years ago.”
